
MOOSE Net Milestone: Sertex Crews Begin Underground Deployment in Brewer, Maine
Construction is officially underway on one of the first segments of the Maine Online Optical Statewide Enabling Network (MOOSE Net).
Sertex crews installed underground vaults for fiber optic cable along the Rt. 9 connector in Brewer, ME, in mid-October, marking a major milestone in expanding high-speed internet access across the state.
The Rt. 9 corridor is now a hub of activity, with Sertex trucks, excavators, and skilled crews working along the roadside. The installation of underground infrastructure is a critical step toward building a resilient, high-capacity network that connects underserved communities and supports economic growth, education, healthcare, and more.
