Last-Mile Broadband Towns in the Berkshires
In November 2017, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker signed an act authorizing $45 million for high-speed internet projects in western Massachusetts. With the goal of closing last-mile gaps in the digital divide, funding was aimed at municipal grant programs in unserved or underserved communities.
Sertex has partnered with 17 of these municipalities in building more than 1,000 miles of gigabit broadband fiber networks and connecting more than 15,000 customers to high-speed Internet service.
